Ronald J. Kobertz
Ronald J. Kobertz, 82, of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 26, 2023, in West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born March 18, 1941, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Stanley Kobertz and Mary Burchik Kobertz Macik.
Ron attended Canonsburg schools and started working at Valley Brooke Country Club as a groundskeeper when he was 16 years old, being employed there until his retirement. It was the only job he ever had.
He lived his entire life in Canonsburg, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening, especially tending to the fishpond in his yard. He loved all animals.
On October 12, 1968, in St. Patrick Church, he married Margaret “Peggy” Carter, who survives after 54 years of marriage.
Also left behind to cherish his memory are his brother, Richard (Millie) Kobertz of Canonsburg; his sister-in-law and caregiver, Shirley Carter of Canonsburg; and was beloved by several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, is his brother, Larry Kobertz.
Private services and interment in Oak Spring Cemetery have been entrusted into the care of SALANDRA FUNERAL and CREMATION SERVICES, INC., Joseph P. Salandra LFD, owner / supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120.
In lieu of flowers, memorials, in Ron’s name, may be given to his wife to defray expenses.
