John F. Sweton
John F. Sweton, 82, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2023, at the Meredith Bay Colony Club in Meredith, New Hampshire.
Born in Canonsburg, he graduated from Washington & Jefferson College in Washington, and worked as a nuclear physicist in the field of EMP hardening at Harry Diamond Laboratories in Woodbridge, Va. His work in this area earned him a number of awards and distinctions.
John is survived by his children, John H. Sweton of Fredericksburg, Va., and Elizabeth Rohdenburg of Meredith, N.H.; his grandchild, Rodolfo Beer of Meredith; and his sisters Eva and Marian Sweton of Canonsburg. Additionally, he leaves behind his dear friend Judy McCann of Tex., who brought laughter and warmth into his life.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the devoted staff at Meredith Bay Colony Club and the Lakes Region Visiting Nurses Association. Their unwavering compassion, respect, and love provided comfort to John and eased his journey during his final years.
