Richard Lee Faddis
Richard Lee Faddis, 79, of Rices Landing, died Sunday, August 20, 2023, in his home.
Richard was born September 30, 1943, in Rices Landing, a son of the late George M. and Estella Kurtyka Faddis.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce L. Whoolery Faddis; two sons, William “Bill” Faddis of Waynesburg, and David Faddis (Prudence) of Rices Landing; a sister, Elizabeth Goslin of Rices Landing; five grandchildren, Nicole Deems (Adam), Emily Faddis (John Starkey), Chase Faddis (Abby Spiker), Morgan Faddis (Dylan Swenglish), Mason Faddis (Brooke Watters); great-granddaughter, Isla Rose Deems; former daughter-in-law, Jennifer Faddis; three sisters-in-law, Barbara Faddis, Patricia Faddis, Janet Faddis; a brother-in-law, Harry Smith; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Rodney Faddis; two sisters, Imogene Hritz and Linda Smith; and three brothers, George Faddis, John Faddis, and Clay Faddis.
Richard served as the township supervisor of Jefferson Township for 38 years and was an honorary board member of the Southwest PA Water Company. He was active in community events and programs and was a member of the Rices Landing Athletic Club, a lifetime member of the Dry Tavern Sportsman’s Club, and an honorary member of the Rices Landing Volunteer Fire Department.
In his later years, he loved to spend time with his family and especially loved to spoil his great-granddaughter, Isla Rose!
Richard will be remembered by his family as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be greatly missed!
