Bernard J. Jaggie
Bernard J. Jaggie, 84, of Rawlings, Md., formerly of Burgettstown, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2023, at 12:05 p.m., in the Weirton Geriatrics Center.
He was born April 6, 1939, in Colton, W.Va., a son of the late Benjamin Franklin Jaggie and Tiny Mae Bennett Jaggie.
He worked at J&L Steel in Aliquippa, and also Sutherland Lumber in Burgettstown.
He enjoyed fishing, bluegrass and country music, and gardening.
His wife, Barbara Bender Jaggie, whom he married June 5, 1959, passed away January 4, 1997.
He is survived by his children, John Jaggie (Cindy Jaggie) of Weirton, W.Va., Mike Jaggie (Lori Prevost) of Weirton, Bonnie Jaggie Eft (Donald Eft) of Rawlings, and Bobbie Jo Lawson of Weirton; seven grandchildren, John Jaggie Jr. (Michelle) of Weirton, Samantha Jaggie Yochum (Eric) of Paris (Pa.), Christopher Jaggie of Burgettstown, Nathan Lawson (deceased), Jacob Eft (Alayna) of Morgantown, Benjamin Eft of Rawlings, and Joshua Eft of Rawlings; four great- grandchildren, Kylie, Cameron, Landon and Jace. He is also survived by a large family of brothers and sisters, Roger Jaggie, Rodney Jaggie and Alfred Jaggie, all of Pennsylvania, Lionel Jaggie of North Carolina, Violet Shipman of Pennsylvania, Mary Lou Petrucci of West Virginia, and Wilma Holbert of Pennsylvania.
Deceased, in addition to his parents and wife, are his brother, Frank Jaggie; sister, Helen Friend; and his grandson, Nathan Lawson. They will all be welcoming him with open arms.
Family and friends will be received from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, August 27, in Slater Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. of BURGETTSTOWN, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, PA 15021, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 28, with Pastor Kenn Jacobs officiating. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Burgettstown.
