Carl R. Fleissner II
Carl R. “Bus” “Bussie” Fleissner II, 81, of Washington, died on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, in Canonsburg Hospital.
He was born on September 6, 1941, a son of the late Carl R. and Nelle E. Davis Fleissner.
A graduate of Washington High School, he was a member of Faith United Presbyterian Church. Carl was also a lifelong member of First Christian Church, where he had been a Deacon and Sunday School Director.
Carl was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served from 1959 until 1962, when he was Honorably Discharged with the rank of Hospital Corpsman Second Class.
He was a member of the Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 of the American Legion.
Mr. Fleissner retired from Verizon/Bell Atlantic in 2002, where he had worked as a switching technician.
A compassionate person, who loved to help others, Carl volunteered for many years at Washington Hospital. He loved solving all the world’s problems while sitting having coffee with his friends.
Surviving are two sons, Carl R. (Amy) Fleissner III, of Washington and Kevin M. (Lisa) Fleissner, of Canonsburg; a brother, Bill (Kim) Fleissner, of Washington; grandchildren, Noah (Shyanna) Scholato, Nicholas Fleissner, Carter Fleissner, Hayden Francis, Aylan Francis, Jacob (Fiancee, Dana Hinchenberger) Bayne, and Jacqueline Fleissner; three great-grandchildren, Harley Scholato, Olivia Scholato and Weston Scholato; three nephews, Chad Fleissner, Brent Fleissner and Todd (Jodi) Fleissner; and a niece, Cigi (Chet) Henderson.
Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, February 5, 2023, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, February 6, 2023, with Pastor Jason Hefner officiating.
Entombment will follow in Washington Cemetery Mausoleum, where military rites will be accorded by the Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 of the American Legion.
