Ramona A. Cunningham
Ramona A. “Monie” Cunningham, 84, of Burgettstown, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2023, in the Donnell House.
She was born August 31, 1938, in Washington, a daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Vega.
On January 8, 1955, she married Raymond Cunningham. They spent 68 loving years together.
“Monie” worked as the business manager for Burgettstown School District for 32 years before her retirement in 2004. She was in the Junior Women’s Club and assisted with the Kindergarten classes before it was a part of the school district.
Ramona was an avid reader and a lifelong member of the former Hillcrest Presbyterian Church, which she continued with the Burgettstown Presbyterian Church, where she served in many capacities.
In addition to her parents, Ramona was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald and Gerald Vega; a sister, Dolores Combs and her husband, Delbert; a sister-in-law, Janet Vega; and son-in-law, William Lutz.
She is survived by her husband, Ray Cunningham; her two daughters, Robin Lutz of Franklin, and Mary Jo Vallina (David); five grandchildren, Reghan Young (Steve), William Lutz Jr., Meta Lutz, David Vallina and Amanda Vallina; two great-grandchildren, Noah and Ella Young; and two sisters, Frances Vega of Langeloth, and Judy Schultes (Roy) of Eldersville.
A memorial service will be held from 1 to 4 p.m., the time of service, Friday, February 17, in Young Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 23 Erie Mine Road, Burgettstown, PA 15021 (724-947-2049).
