Dorothy Jean Mounts Stein, 92, of Wheeling, W.Va., passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at Liza’s Place, after a lengthy battle with ovarian cancer.
Dot was born August 31, 1930, in Washington, daughter of the late Elmer and Dorothy McClay Mounts. She was a graduate of Trinity High School and a former member of the Fairhill Manor Christian Church in Washington.
In addition to her parents, Dot was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Stein, in 1994; and one sister, Shirley Weaver.
She is survived by her three children, Debbie (Rick) Clark and Judy (Larry) Ebbert, both of Wheeling, W.Va. and Jack “Mike” (Kathleen) Stein of St Petersburg, Fla.; two brothers, Skip Mounts and Denny (Kim) Mounts both of Washington; her brother-in-law, Jerry (Ruth) Stein; and her sister-in-law, Carol Stein, all of Washington; eight grandchildren: Desiree, Christine, Joshua, Stacey, Adam, Hannah, Jack and Heidi; and nine great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger Street, Elm Grove, W.Va., from 2 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, with Reverend Kenneth Hardway officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling, W.Va.
