Geraldine “Gerry” Grace Guthrie Dille, of Washington, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2022, in Washington Hospital.

She was born on April 28, 1929, in Washington, a daughter of the late Fritz and Thelma Ferrell Guthrie.

A 1947 graduate of Trinity High School, she worked at Lawrence Shoes, J.C. Penney, and the R.O.T.C. at Washington and Jefferson College.

Gerry enjoyed golfing, reading, jigsaw puzzles and decorative painting. She was a member of the National Society of Decorative Painters and Golden Triangle Decorative Painters. At the time of her death, Gerry was the longest living member of Laboratory Presbyterian Church.

Since May 1, 2022, Gerry resided at Evergreen Personal Care Home, where she greatly enjoyed visits from her children, grandchildren, relatives and friends.

On May 22, 1949, she married George M. Dille, in Laboratory Presbyterian Church. They celebrated nearly 69 years of marriage before her “darling” George’s passing on December 10, 2019.

Surviving are three children, Debra Humble, of Washington, Dee Dille, of Washington, and Dana “Pickle” (Laura) Dille, of Clinton; a daughter-in-law, Tressie (John) Gable, of Washington; four grandchildren, Daniel and Michael (Camelia) Dille, Kari Joyner and Jodi (Elick) Kerns; three step-grandchildren, Jeffrey (Erin), Jennifer, and Justin Gentile; three great-granddaughters, Alexa and Aleah Kerns, and Addison Joyner; two step-great-grandsons, Colton and Cameron Gentile; a sister, Audrey Wagers, of Washington; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Deceased are a son, Daryl Dille; and a brother, Ronald Guthrie.

Friends and family are welcome from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 5, 2023, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, January 6, 2023, in Laboratory Presbyterian Church, 23 Manse Street, Washington, with Reverend Jason Freyer officiating.
