Paula J. Trail Maley-Hodor, 68, of Eighty Four, formerly of New Eagle, died Thursday, January 12, 2023, in her home.

She was born August 10, 1954, in New Eagle, the daughter of the late James Trail and Elsie McDonald Trail, who survives, and resides in New Eagle.

Paula was a member of the Garwood Baptist Church in Daisytown. She was a licensed pastor and chaplain through the National Association of Christian Ministries. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Charleroi, the American Legion in Carroll Township, Finleyville and Donora, the Slovak Club in Monongahela, and the Russian Club in Charleroi.

In the 1980’s, Paula worked as a personal care home administrator at both McMurray Hills Manor and at the Pawlowski Personal Care Home. In the 1990’s, she was employed at Store Away Storage Center in Lawrence.

Alway passionate about her love of music, Paula had directed two gospel groups, Try Jesus Gospel Singers and Second Chance Group.

She and her husband, Edward, owned and operated White Rose Karaoke and DJ. They loved being around people and made countless friends throughout the years.

For 10 years, Paula was an administrative volunteer at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, earning many recognitions of which she was very proud. She was also involved in raising monetary contributions for the Flight 93 Memorial, Paralyzed Veterans of America and the Disabled Veterans of America.

Paula took great joy in catering and organizing parties and weddings. She loved to shop and spend time with her granddaughter, Noelle. Her husband, children, and granddaughter were the best part of her life, making it complete and rewarding.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her son, Dennis Maley, Jr. of Eighty Four; daughter, Mychelle (John) Crea of Belle Vernon; granddaughter, Noelle Navarra; sister, Sherry (Dennis) Hudayek; and two brothers, James and Mark Trail, all of Monongahela.

She was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Edward Hodor, who died November 28, 2020; and her first husband, Dennis Maley, who died May 7, 1998.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, January 16, 2023, in the Frye Funeral Home, Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela, where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, with the Reverend Kevin Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow in the Monongahela Cemetery.
