Lawrence M. Clutter
Lawrence M. “Larry” Clutter, 74, of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 15, 2023, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, from a brief illness, with his loving family by his side. He was born September 21, 1948, in Washington, a son of the late Lloyd G. “Ham” and Mary Ann Bober Clutter.
Larry was a graduate of Trinity High School Class of 1966 and wiring school in Pittsburgh. He had been employed for 18 years at the former RCA plant in Meadowlands as a wireman and in maintenance. Prior to his retirement, Larry had been the head of the maintenance department for the Canon-McMillan School District.
Living in Canonsburg for the past 48 years, he was a member of the St. Oscar Romero Parish, St. Patrick Church. Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. He could build or repair anything and was a Jack-of-all-trades and a master of them all, enjoyed working in his garden. He most enjoyed being with his grandchildren, camping with his family and dinner with his wife at Bob Evans and Pizzaz in McMurray, where they made many friends. He will be missed by his two cats, Frankie and Diesel.
On July 27, 1974, in the former St. Genevieve Roman Catholic Church, he married his devoted wife, Kathleen M. Soski, who survives after 48 years of marriage.
Also left behind to cherish his memory are his three beloved sons, Lawrence Clutter Jr. and wife Carrie of Cranberry Township, Mark Ryan Clutter and wife Denise of Canonsburg, and Michael Alan Clutter and wife Emily of Claysville; his six cherished grandchildren, Brandon, Cara, Kyleigh, Gage, Sawyer and Rhyatt Clutter; his sister, Mary Beth Glover of Brownsville; and five nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are his brother and sister, Timothy and Susan Clutter.
Friends and family are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 18, in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra LFD, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120, where departing prayers will be recited at 9:40 a.m. Thursday, January 19. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Oscar Romero Parish St. Patrick Church, 317 West Pike Street, Canonsburg. Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Township.
