Kenneth Boone
Kenneth “Kenny” Boone, 82, of Washington, passed away unexpectedly, in his home, Sunday, January 15, 2023.
Kenny was born in Washington, a son of the late Edwin Boone and Sara Renner Boone.
He is survived by the love of his life, Susan; and their four children.
Kenny and Susan Cunningham Boone were married in 1965. Along with their four children and their spouses, Joyce Ingram (Joe), Joseph Boone (Rachel), Jeffrey Boone (Christine), and Joel Boone (Robert), Kenny and Susan have five grandchildren, Jessica Ingram, Justin Ingram (Kristin), Sara Rocus (Rusty), JD Boone and Taylor Boone; and four greatgrandchildren; Ian Miller, Lydia and Grace Ingram and Emilia Rocus.
As a young man, Kenny served four years in the United States Air Force. This was the only extended time Kenny spent away from the family farm. Upon returning home, Kenny was employed by West Penn Power and retired after 39 years.
Kenny enjoyed retirement. When not out working on the farm Kenny could be found sitting in his garage with his boys or in his favorite chair with Susan and his beloved dog, Molly (Taz before her). The rides to Minteer’s Market for the Wheeling paper with Susan and riding around the farm in his Polaris were his most cherished daily activities. Kenny enjoyed hunting out West, watching MeatEator’s, and watching West Virginia University or Penn State football with his family.
Kenny was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and greatgrandfather. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Kenny was preceded in death by his youngest sister, Alice Bonne Main.
He is survived by his sisters Eva Pettit and Sandy Hewitt.
Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 19, in the Young Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 219 Main Street, Claysville, PA 15323 (724) 663-7373, www.youngfhinc.com. On Friday, January 20, there will be an additional hour of viewing from 10 until the 11 a.m. time of service in the funeral home. The viewing will be casual attire in honor of Kenny. Camouflage or jeans are welcome.
