Donald Carl Grim
Donald Carl Grim, 77, of Canonsburg, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2023, in his home.
He was born on April 28, 1945, in Washington, a son of the late Charles L. Grim and Clarice J. Richmond McWreath.
A graduate of McGuffey High School, Mr. Grim proudly served his country as a marksman with Battery A, 6th Battalion, 9th Artillery, 7th US Army and had been stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal and was honorably discharged in 1967.
Donald was a member of the Bricklayers and Allied Craft Workers Local 9 for over 50 years. As a union bricklayer, most of his time was spent working with glass block. He traveled extensively, building glass furnaces with Henry F. Teichmann, Inc., from where he retired. He had also previously been a bricklayer with Jessop Steel.
Mr. Grim was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan. He was a member of the American Legion Post 175, the Alpine Club, the Jessop Club and the Polaski Club.
Surviving are: a brother, William E. (Sandra) Grim of Bentleyville; three nieces, Dawn Grim of Canonsburg, Sherry (Robert) Rohrbacher of Washington and Kerry(Joel) Fava of Eighty Four; a nephew, William Grim of Bentleyville; three great-nephews, Ryan and Blake Rohrbacher and Owen Fava; and a great-niece, Katelyn Fava.
At the request of the deceased, all services were private.
