James F. Gordon
James F. “Crow” Gordon, 82, of Avella, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 3, 2023 in Ann’s Country Retreat, Wellsburg, WV.
He was born on August 11, 1940 in Washington, a son of the late John Gordon Jr. and Anna Petosky Gordon.
Crow attended Avella High School and worked out of Ironworkers Local #3 of Pittsburgh for over 30 years.
He was a lifelong resident of Avella and a member of St. Michael Church (St. Isidore the Farmer Parish), Polar Star Mutual Benefit Society and Raccoon Sportsmen’s Club.
Crow was a dedicated husband and father. He loved fishing visiting with his grandchildren.
On April 14, 1957 in Winchester, VA, he married Marion Louise Myers, who passed away on February 25, 2023.
Surviving are his sons, James F. (Patti) Gordon Jr. of Cecil and Jeffrey S. (Stephanie) Gordon of Presto; four grandchildren, Christina (Mark) Smiechowski, James (Jamie) Gordon, Hannah (Patrick) Courtney and Hunter Gordon; three great- grandchildren, Brynley & Taylynn Smiechowski and Carter Hames; sister, Gloria Manni of Atlasburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased in addition to his wife of 65 years and his parents is a brother, John Gordon III.
All funeral services and burial are private.
