Michael J. Lucyk
Michael J. Lucyk went to be with his Lord Sunday, June 11, 2023.
Michael was born May 8, 1958, in Morgantown, W.Va., to the late Michael Lucyk and Edna “Marie” Lewis Lucyk.
Michael was a 1976 graduate of Mapletown High School, where he was a member of the high school marching band and stage band.
Michael was a member of the American Legion Post #0954 for the past 39 years. He was honorably discharged from the National Guard Reserves in 1978. He was also a member of the Civil Air Patrol from 1976-2004.
Michael is survived by his wife of almost 17 years, Paulette Kelley- Wilkes Lucyk of Nineveh; his stepdaughter, Kelly Wilkes Gaskins of Bridgeport, W.Va., her husband, Ronnie and their daughter, Kyndra.
Michael was preceded in death by his father, Michael Lucyk, and his mother, Edna “Marie” Lewis Lucyk, both of Point Marion; and his stepdaughter, Erica Wilkes of Nutter Fort, W.Va.
Michael spent his free time golfing, woodworking, doing photography and driving around enjoying the sites. He was also a machinist. He was an avid Civil War buff, partaking in reenactments and several visits to battle sites. He also very much enjoyed watching reels of the “Three Stooges”.
Michael was a gentle soul. He never met a stranger. He had a unique sense of humor and did a great impression of his favorite president, Ronald Reagan. He will be very much missed by his family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the time of a service, Saturday, June 17, in Behm Funeral Home, Waynesburg, with the Reverend Larry Douglas officiating. Interment will take place at Wolfe Cemetery in Dilliner immediately following the service.
