Catherine Alexas
Catherine Alexas, 95, a resident of McMurray, passed away peacefully Monday, June 19, 2023.
She was born August 31, 1927, a daughter of the late George and Penelope Karanzalis Alexas.
Catherine graduated from Washington High School in 1945 and she went to Washington Female Seminary, where she graduated in 1948.
She worked at Sears as an accounting clerk, retiring in 1990.
Catherine was a member of All Saints Greek Orthodox Church in Canonsburg. She had a passion for working her yard and spending time at her burn pile. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was the beloved mother of Dean Kademenos, George (Cheri) Kademenos and the late Peter Alexas; loving daughter-in-law of Janet Kademenos; cherished Yia Yia of Dayna Gregg, Robert Kademenos and Andreas (fiancee Abbi Vance) Kademenos; great-grandmother of Jesse, Kurt, Phoenix, Autumn, Rayanna, and the late Alexander; dear sister of Ernest (Leona) Alexas and the late Helen Alexas; also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held from 10 until the time of service at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 22, in All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, 601 W. McMurray Road, Canonsburg, PA 15317.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to All Saints Greek Orthodox Church.
