Vincent A. Morich, of Greensburg, passed on to a pain free life, to be with our Lord, on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at St. Anne’s Home. His will to live and enjoy life never expired, but the body ravaged with cancer and osteoporosis gave up.

He was born on September 4, 1944, in Walkertown, to the late Paul and Ethel Hajdu Morich.

Vince graduated from California Area High School in 1962, and enrolled at West Virginia University, on a football scholarship, with the intent to pursue engineering. He graduated from California University of Pennsylvania, with dual teaching certifications in Special Education, Social Studies, and Drivers’ Education, and went onto teach and retire from the Laurel Highlands School District, in Uniontown.

Life often throws us curve balls, but Vince had a talent for rising to the top and making situations work for the best.

In high school and college, Vince excelled in baseball and football, and later enjoyed racquetball and golf.

Besides collecting sports memorabilia and German steins, Vince also collected true, genuine friends. It is said that people enter your life for a reason. No matter what phase of Vince’s life one would examine, he was surrounded by wonderful, supportive, contributing friends. We are both forever blessed and grateful for his network of good, talented, caring people.

Vince is survived by his wife of 52 years, Shannon McBryar Morich; a nephew, Chad and wife, Desiree Ferguson Morich and their children, Chase and Maison; a niece, Dana Morich and her daughter, Danisa; and many dear cousins.

He was predeceased by his younger brother, Randall.

Vince was a member in good standing with the Latrobe Elks #907, American Legion, president of Corvette Club of Western PA, C.A.S.A. participant, California Area Historical Society, life member of Saltsburg Area Historical Society and Westmoreland County Humane Society, and TKE social fraternity.

The family of Vince Morich would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to the staff, nurses and caregivers at St. Anne’s for the dignity and compassion you gave to Vince during his stay there.
