Michael T. Delich, 94, of Upper St. Clair, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at Southminster Place of Presbyterian SeniorCare.

Mike married his beloved wife, Ona Mae Bibbee, on May 18, 1948. She preceded him in death on March 7, 2008, 15 years to the day.

Also preceding him in death is a son, Michael T. Delich Jr, who passed away in 1954.

Mike was born a son of the late Thomas and Mary Delich on June 15, 1928, in Kinney, Minnesota, where he was born and raised.

He is survived by three children who cherished him deeply, Darlene (Tim) Davis, Glenn (Jackie) Delich, and Arlene (the late Bryan) Yost; adored and loved by eight grandchildren, Jennifer (Hugh) Halpern, Michael Davis, Christian Delich, Caitlin Delich, Jesse (Adam) Tune, Zachary (Christie) Yost, Justin (Justina) Yost, and Kailee (Jesse) Richter; as well as 12 great-grandchildren, Ari, Wyatt, Ella, Ethan, Chase, Tessa, Van, Bennett, Millie, Gracie, Mikey, and Joie.

Mike was a graduate of West Virginia University. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa.

He went on to work for US Steel as an executive for 36 years in finance and human resources.

Mike was a US Army veteran, serving in Europe during the Occupation, shortly following WWII.

He was Mr. Christmas to all who knew and loved him, having 16 trees up every Christmas in his home, and over 7,000 ornaments hand tagged from everyone who gifted one to him.

Mike loved tending to his flower beds and landscaping his lawn.

He was the primary caregiver to his wife, Ona Mae, for 18 years before her passing.

He was such a passionate man, loving to all, fair, kind, and greeted everyone with a smile and a hug. He was always so positive and always lending a helping hand to any and all who needed it.

Mike was a man of great faith. He was a member at First Bethel United Methodist Church for more than 60 years.

Mike’s family was his greatest love, and they will miss him deeply.

Family and friends will be received from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 10, 2023, at Paul Henney Cremation & Funeral Tributes, 5570 Library Road, Bethel Park. A service will be offered on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at First Bethel United Methodist Church, 5901 Library Road, Bethel Park, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Lisa Grant officiating.

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Presbyterian SeniorCare or Gateway Hospice.
