Frank Pappas
Frank “Frunjo” Pappas, a proud veteran of the United States Army, 81, of Canonsburg, died Sunday, May 14, 2023, in his home, peacefully, with his family by his side.
He was born March 2, 1942, in Karpathos, Greece, a son of Nick and Anna Scoulos Pappas.
Mr. Pappas was Greek Orthodox by faith.
At the age of 23, Frank enlisted in the United States Army. He valued this service highly, and attained the rank of Sergeant. As part of his service, he qualified as a sharpshooter, and received the National Defense and Good Conduct medals.
Upon his discharge, he worked as a self employed contractor. He loved his work, especially wood working, and loved spending time with his family.
On January 25, 1967, he married Janet Natale Pappas, with whom he shared over 56 years of marriage and who survives.
Also surviving are his daughter, Melissa Monaghan of Canonsburg; sons, Niko Pappas of Canonsburg, Jason (Michelle) Pappas of Virginia Beach, Va.; sister, Evangeline “Vange” (Dale) Clarke of Ft. Myers, Fla.; nephew, Ian Clarke; grandchildren, Chelsea (Dakota) Grizzle, Brooke Dixon; great-grandchildren, Blakely, Natalie; several cousins and other family members.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Emmanuel Pappas.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no public visitation. Friends and family are asked to meet at Sollon’s, Thursday, May 18, promptly at 10 am. Full military honors with the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191 will be rendered at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville.
