Donald L. Bates Jr., 63, of Uniontown, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2023, in Bella Health Care. He was born December 12, 1959, in Waynesburg, a son of the late Donald E. Bates, Sr. and Ivy Deems Bates

Donald was a 1978 graduate of Jefferson-Morgan High School. He was employed as a dish tank operator for Frank I’s Bar & Grill. Donald enjoyed hunting and fishing, four-wheeling and music concerts.

Left to cherish Donald’s memory are his wife, Patricia Bates of Uniontown; daughters, Jessica Lingenfield of Jefferson, Heather Bates of Washington, Cassie Bates of Lancaster, Ohio, and Brianna Bates of Graysville; stepdaughter, Amanda Foster (Daniel) of Clarksville; six grandchildren; two stepchildren; two great- grandchildren; and his fur companions, Scruffy and Kia.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Andrew D. Ferguson Funeral Home & Crematories Inc., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, where the family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m., the time of a service celebrating Donald’s life, Tuesday, May 23, with the Rev. Jim Gear officiating. Interment will be private.
