Josephine Kathryn Mambu Felton
J. Kathryn Mambu Felton, “Aunt Katie” to everyone, 93, of McDonald, passed Friday, May 26, 2023.
She was born January 10, 1930, in Avella, a daughter of Joseph and Teresa Lepera Mambu.
Mrs. Felton was a graduate of Avella High School Class of 1947. She worked as a bookkeeper for Dean Polen Coal company for 5 years and then for Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for 27 years.
On March 24, 1973, she married Howard W. Felton, who passed March 3, 1995.
Kathryn was a member of St. Isidore the Farmer Parish, St. Alphonsus worship site. She volunteered at McDonald Meals on Wheels and enjoyed spending as much time with her family as she could, especially her great-great-niece Jordon Schubenski. She truly enjoyed Jordon’s visits and performances.
Surviving are a niece, Terri Schubenski of Avella; three nephews, Dr. Joseph Mambu of Philadelphia, Ron Mambu of Naperville, Ill., and Tom Mucci of Washington; five great-nephews, Bobby Schubenski, Dominic, Eric, Bob Mambu, Andrew Mambu-Rasch, and Tommy and Joey Mucci; three great-nieces, Dr. Niccole Mambu-Oswald, Attorney, Theresa Mambu-Rasch, Mikayla Mucci and Milena Roucka; three great-great- nieces, Sara Oswald, Catherine Mambu- Rasch and Jordon Schubenski; stepdaughter Marlene Runtas; step-grandchildren, Chris Simpson, Jerry and Gary Runtas, and Patrick Felton.
Deceased are two brothers, Dominic and Fred Mambu; two sisters, Josephine Mucci and infant, Josephine Mambu; stepson William Felton.
All services are private and entrusted to Nation Funeral Home Inc., 218-220 E. Lincoln Avenue, McDonald, PA 15057.
