Arthur Fiore DeGiovanni
Arthur Fiore DeGiovanni, 94, of Washington, died Friday, October 27, 2023.
He was born May 11, 1929, a son of August and Lena Costanzo DeGiovanni. He graduated in 1947 from Mt.Lebanon High School, and furthered his education at the University of Pittsburgh, where he played football.
“Buzz” loved sports. He played semi-pro hockey for the Pittsburgh Knights and also semi-pro football for the Bloomfield Rams and Duquesne Ironman.
He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.
Prior to his retirement, he worked as a pilot.
Buzz loved his horses and working on his farm.
He is survived by his son, Arthur V. DeGiovanni of Washington; two daughters, Melisa (Dave) Fabyonic, of McDonald, Jamie DeGiovanni of Washington; sister, Margaret Ann Colella of Whitehall; six grandchildren: David Kincaid, Wyatt Kincaid, Harli Kincaid, Megan Fabyonic, David Fabyonic and Eve DeGiovanni; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, August DeGiovanni; and daughter-in-law, Wendy DeGiovanni.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, at Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services, LTD, 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, 724-746-1000.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, in the funeral home. Burial will be private.
