Carol Martello Lidiak
It is with great sorrow that the family of Carol Lidiak, 77, announce her passing Tuesday, October 31, 2023. Carol was born in New Eagle to Oscar and Irma Martello.
She received a BS degree in Medical Technology from the University of Pittsburgh, followed by an MS degree in Information Science.
Most of her 32-year career was with the UPMC divisions of Immunopathology and Information Services.
In 1989, Carol married Edward Lidiak and together they enjoyed many years of golf and travel, particularly to the Caribbean and Europe. Carol also enjoyed several years of volunteering at Phipps Conservatory and traveled as a volunteer Alumnae District Officer and Alumnae Specialist for Delta Delta Delta Fraternity.
She is survived by her sister and best friend, Jane (Doug) McKenery; nephews, David (Becca Stoner) McKenery and their children, Paige and Maren; nephews, Michael, and Frank Lidiak, Jr.; and niece, Marianne Baker and their families.
She will be remembered for her smile, delicious meals and her Christmas cookies.
Family and friends are welcome from 1 to 6 p.m. Friday, November 3, in William Slater II Funeral Service, 1650 Greentree Road, Scott Township, PA 15220 (412-563-2800). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 4, in St. Barbara Church, Corpus Christi Parish, 45 Prestley Road, Bridgeville, PA 15017. Interment is private.
