Angelo Anthony Strapazzon III

Angelo Anthony Strapazzon III, 68, of Langeloth, passed away on Monday morning, September 18, 2023, in his home.

He was born on September 9, 1955, a son of the late Angelo A. Strapazzon, Jr. and Laura Bell Garren Koon.

A 1973 graduate of the Burgettstown High School, he enlisted in the United States Army, serving in the 82nd Airborne Division from 1973-1974. He was honorably discharged a recipient of the National Defense Service Medal.

Always an advocate and supporter of his fellow veterans, he served in many capacities including past commander and current quartermaster of the Atlasburg Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6490 and their Funeral Honor Guard, and was an active member and fundraiser for the Western Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors.

He worked as a Merchant Mariner on the barges for J&L Steel in Aliquippa, was an Ironworker, as well as a self employed general contractor.

An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, his camp in Tionesta, was an avid gun collector and rehabilitated countless animals and wildlife. He also enjoyed classic cars and his Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

He is survived by his loving wife, Virginia “Ginger” Donavich Strapazzon, whom he married on August 3, 1986; his son, Anthony Strapazzon and wife, Samantha of Monaca; daughter, Angela Jones and husband, Michael of Crafton; grandchildren, Lucas and Leina Jones; brothers, Danny Strapazzon and wife, Vicki, John Strapazzon and wife, Jeanette, and Joe and Brian Strapazzon; a sister, Amy Bertolotti; and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are welcome from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 12:45 p.m., on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, officiated by Dr. Toni Harrington, in Slater Funeral & Cremation Services of BURGETTSTOWN, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, PA 15021. Inurnment with full military honors, will follow at 2 p.m. in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Road, Bridgeville, PA 15017, followed by a luncheon and continuation of fellowship at the Atlasburg V.F.W.

Memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Western PA Wounded Warriors, 139 Mitchell Road, Eighty Four, PA 15330.
