Patricia J. Dhayer
Patricia J. Dhayer, 91, of Cecil, formerly of Washington, passed away Friday evening, September 29, 2023.
Patty was born February 1, 1932, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Chalfa Pruce.
She was a 1950 graduate of Canonsburg High School and was a member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church of Avella.
Patty was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a proud homemaker; she prided herself on her daily chore lists and her thorough spring and fall cleaning. Patty loved to dance to Polka music, watch game shows and episodes of the Golden Girls. She loved to watch ALL sports on TV, but she was especially partial to Notre Dame sports.
On December 27, 1952, in St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church of Canonsburg, she married William Henry Dhayer, who passed away December 10, 2010.
Surviving Patty are her daughter, Deborah (Tom) Howard of Cecil; two grandchildren, Stacy (Jason) Miller of Imperial, and Stephen (Michelle) Howard of Bridgeville; three great- grandchildren, Camden and Tanner Miller, and Austin Howard; sister, Carol Pruce of Canonsburg; brother-in- law, James (Jeannine) Dhayer of Washington; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Deceased, in addition to her husband of 57 years and her parents are a son, William M. Dhayer; and a brother, Joseph F. Pruce.
Friends and family will be received from 9 to 11 a.m., the time of a Panahida Service, Wednesday, October 4, in the Jerome A. Stefkovich Funeral Home Inc., 18 Campbell Street, Avella, PA 15312. A Divine Liturgy will follow at 11:30 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, 176 Cross Creek Road, Avella, with Fr. Brian Norrell officiating.
Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Avella.
