Carol Ann Jones
Carol Ann Jones, 87, of Claysville, died Tuesday, October 3, 2023, in Townview Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born December 25, 1935, in Washington, a daughter of the late Frank Russell Bell and Geraldine Rice Trathowen.
She graduated from Trinity High School and attended Upper Ten Mile Presbyterian Church.
She enjoyed bingo and the casino. She worked at Ramada Inn many years ago before becoming a homemaker. Carol loved caring for her family.
On April 14, 1956, Carol married Ronald James Jones, Sr., who died April 10, 2006.
Surviving are three sons, Ronald James Jones, Jr. of West Virginia, Frank Russel Jones, Sr. (Annette) of Claysville, Gerald Lee Jones (Janice) of East Finley; daughters, Glenda Ann Fisher of Washington, and Brenda Lee Jones of Prosperity; daughter-in-law, Linda Sue Jones of West Finley; sisters, Donna Richmond of Prosperity, and half-sister, Betty Shanor of Washington; along with her grandchildren, Joshua Jones, Jenny Jones, Amanda Bedillion, Nicole O’Brien (Patrick), Frank Jones, Jr., John Jones, Jr., Zachary Jones, Cody Jones, Tara Wilson, Travis Wilson, Dustin Fisher, Gerald Jones, Jr. (Emily), Jacinda Griffith (Luke), Austin Johnson, Bryton Johnson, Desmond Johnson; and 16 great- grandchildren.
Preceding Carol in death was a son, Johnie Jay Jones; and a great-granddaughter.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, October 6, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where a service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 7, with Pastor Cody Rogers officiating.
Interment to follow in Prosperity Cemetery.
