Betty Lou Higginbotham
Betty Lou Higginbotham, 97, passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2023, in Port St. Lucie, Fla.
She was born March 24, 1926, in Washington, to the late Earl and Helen Reeves Mounts.
She obtained B.S. and M.S. degrees after returning to college as an adult and worked as a special education teacher and school psychologist before retiring with Albert, her husband of 64 years, to Palm Coast, Fla., where they enjoyed ballroom dancing, tennis and cruises.
After Albert passed in 2008, Betty moved to Fort Pierce, Fla. to be close to her children.
She is survived by her son, Timothy of Fort Pierce; daughter, Dana of Port St. Lucie; and grandson, Lucas Hnath of New York City. A daughter, Kimberly Lynn, died in infancy.
She will be interred with Albert at Upper Ten Mile Cemetery in Prosperity.
