Opal Mae Shriver
Opal Mae Shriver, 91, of Washington, died on Saturday, October 14, 2023, in her home.
She was born on May 29, 1932, in Washington, a daughter of the late George and Bernice Bane Mayne.
Opal was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints since 1965. Opal and her late husband, William were sealed in the Manti Temple of the church, in Manti, Utah.
Mrs. Shriver enjoyed farming and was a member of the Farm Bureau. She also enjoyed selling Avon and visiting with her community and friends.
On June 29, 1951, she married William P. Shriver, Sr., who died on September 15, 2009.
Surviving are her loving sister, Wilma Crawford, of Waynesburg; a granddaughter, Lindsay Bott; great-grandchildren, Ashley Walker, Caleb Walker, Megan Walker, Faith Walker, Grace Bioni, Hope Shriver, Madelynn Shriver and Abigail Bott; great-great-grandchildren, Jaycee Kovatch and Tahani Benjamin; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, are a son, William Shriver, Jr.; and siblings: George Edward, George Lee, Pat “Clarence”, Bucky “William,” Peggy “Bessie” and Helen.
Friends and family will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 295 Allison Avenue, Washington. Additional visitation will be held, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., the time of service, on Thursday, October 19, 2023, in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 525 Fairway Street, Washington, with Blake Stephens officiating. All attending the service are asked to please meet at the church on Thursday.
Burial will follow in Prosperity Cemetery.
