Joseph Ward Tustin
Joseph Ward Tustin, 89, of Finleyville passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sept. 3, 2023, in Allegheny General Hospital.
He was born on June 18, 1934, in Tidioute, Pa., a son of the late Catherine Vulcan Tustin Harrison and Henry H. Tustin.
He is survived by his wife, Nina Lees Tustin; daughter, Cynthia Tuscano; son-in-law, David Tuscano: grandchildren, David Tuscano, Kailen (Jon) Brant and Garett (Rachel) Tustin; great-grandchildren, Hailee, Anna, Ashlen, Austin, Madelynn and Brayden. In addition he is survived by brother-in-law, Ervan (Anne) Lees; sister-in-law, Lois (Norman) George and many nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by sons, Joseph A. Tustin and Gregory S. Tustin; mother, Catherine; and brother, Donald Tustin.
Married for 69 years, Joe and Nina spent nearly 73 years of their lives together. Joe was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and will always be remembered for his work ethic, love for family, quick wit and punchy one-liners. During a difficult time, Joe and Nina welcomed grandson Garett into their home and raised him as their own, a proud highlight of his life.
Joe was a 50+ year member of the First Presbyterian Church of Finleyville, lifetime member of the Moose and associate member of the Legion. He enjoyed spending time with family, travel, camping, trips to the mountains, golfing and occasional casino recreation.
He was formerly employed by U.S. Steel and as a private contractor for Ringgold School District.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Kegel Funeral Home, Inc. David P. Kegel, Supervisor 3560 Washington Ave Finleyville, where services will begin 11 a.m. Friday.
