Michael George Deep, Sr., 73, of Canonsburg, passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2023, in his home, following a lengthy illness, and surrounded by his loving family.
He was born January 27, 1950, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Mike and Sarah Moses Deep.
He was employed by McGraw Edison and then founded County Wide Home Improvements, which he operated until his retirement.
Michael was a member of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church in Pittsburgh.
He was an avid bowler and member of Canonsburg bowling leagues. He coached the East End Hurricanes Football Team and coached two back-to- back championship teams. He loved spending time with his dogs.
On October 15, 1983, in St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, he married Jean Taylor, who survives.
Surviving are his children, Michael Deep Jr., Mark (Sally) Deep, Christopher Deep, Bill (Heather) Dano, and Melissa Heise. Also surviving are two sisters, Michelle Wilson and Avigail Deep; two grandchildren, Jordan Heise and Sophia Deep; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Esper Deep; and four sisters, Flora Deep, Diana Deep, Katherine Drakeley and Sara Jane Deep.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, September 10, in Mario L. DeAngelo Funeral Home, 194 East College Street, Canonsburg, where a memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, September 11, with Father John Kotalik officiating. Interment will follow in St. George Cemetery in Bridgeville.
