Michael DeFrank, Jr.
Michael “Butch” DeFrank, Jr., 76, of Carmichaels, found peace on Tuesday, September 5, 2023.
He was born May 1, 1947, son of the late Esther DeFrank Christy and Michael DeFrank, Sr.
Mike leaves behind his loving family: two daughters, Michelle (Lee) Church and Angela Loring; three grandchildren: Kage, Kyle and Kali Loring, of Carmichaels; two brothers, Ted (Marlene) DeFrank, of Rices Landing and Bob (Sherri) DeFrank, of Given, W.Va.; and his sister, Nancy (Gib) Brown, of Clarksburg, W.Va. He is also survived by Lucille Palone DeFrank, of Carmichaels; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and life long friends,
Mike graduated from Carmichaels Area High School in 1965, served in the U.S. Army and was a trained draftsman.
He owned and operated two local businesses: DeFrank’s Produce and The Kar Lot. Mike retired from his job as a Corrections Officer at the SCI Greene Prison in Waynesburg. He was well known in the area for his generous and kind spirit, and his crazy (but true) stories of growing up and working in Greene County. He lived a good life and was a loyal friend to his many ornery buddies who await him in the next world with poker chips, fishing poles, golf clubs, cold beer and good eats!
Rest peacefully, dear “Butch.”
Memorial Donations can be made to: Teddy Bear Care Corp, P.O. Box 163, Carmichaels, PA 15320.
In keeping with his wishes, Mike will be cremated. There will be no public visitation.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Paul M Lesako Funeral Home, Carmichaels.
