Shirley A. Newman, 84, of Bentleyville, formerly of New Eagle, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 23, 2023. She was surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on February 25, 1939, in Leisenring, a daughter of the late Paul Corbett, Sr. and Blanche Burkett Corbett.

Shirley worked as a certified nursing aide at the Washington County Health Center before she retired in 1999.

She was devoted to her family, as that gave her the most joy. She also enjoyed reading, watching the Steelers, and she loved her dog, Duke.

On May 4, 1955, she married Duane Newman, who passed away on February 14, 2003. They were married for 48 years.

She was the cherished mother of Marsha Dykins (Bob) of Bentleyville, Diane Crumrine (Bo) of Charleroi and Thomas Newman (Melissa) of Finleyville; five grandchildren: Lindsay Piasecki, Travis Harff, Tyler Dykins, Nathan Newman and Brody Newman; great-grandchildren: Abby Selvoski, Gavin and Cooper Piasecki, Sophia, Evelyn and Oliver Harff, Nolan Dykins, Calla, Ember, Lennox and Rainbow.

She is also survived by sisters, Margie Goodrum and Kathy Zumpetta.

Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, are her brother, Paul (Murph) Corbett; and a grandson, Brian “BJ” Crumrine.

We would also like to thank Amber and Janice, who helped us care for our beautiful Mom.

Friends are welcome from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255, where a service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 27, 2023 with the Pastor Henry Frain, officiating.
