The candidates vying for political jobs all say the same things: “I’ll balance the budget,” “I’ll grow the economy, and my plan to save Medicare is …,” yada, yada …What they don’t say is the military/industrial jointure is killing us.We have to close most of our military bases throughout the world, especially in hostile lands, and bring our troops home now.If we do that, billions of dollars will be saved and could be used to fight the war against drug dealers and users.Illegal drugs and allied crime are destroying families across our nation.Money once used wastefully to fuel the war machine can be used to provide jobs in law enforcement, with many thousands of jobs going to associated support companies.Frank SerraNorth Strabane Township
