Last week, there was much turmoil in our country. Besides the bombing at the Boston Marathon, there was the fertilizer factory exploding in the town of West, Texas, which just about destroyed it.

What was surprising is that it didn’t take Texas U.S. senators John Cornyn and Ted Cruz much time to ask for federal aid for the state. Cornyn voted no for aid for Connecticut, New York and New Jersey after Hurricane Sandy hit. In other words, hooray for me and give me aid when my state needs it, but to heck with you with you need federal help.

Why can’t our Congress work for the good of all people in this country?
