I don’t usually write letters to the editor. I am, for the most part, a patient person. But enough is enough.

What I would like to know is why it has been taking PennDOT almost six months to put a pipe in the middle of Route 221 in a space that’s approximately 500 feet? They set several dates when it would be done, the latest one being Dec. 20.

To go to Washington and Pittsburgh, I have to go 12 miles to Waynesburg and five more miles to Ruff Creek. That’s 17 miles out of way.

I have seen them construct a road in less than six months. I guess the people in this area are not important enough and they don’t care how long they inconvenience us. As taxpayers, we only help pay their salaries. I hope it is at least done by spring.
