I read with amusement the letters of those appalled that stores opened early for shopping on Thanksgiving Day. I, too, spend that day with family. But if I or anyone else needed medical attention or wanted to include in our family day a member who was hospitalized, they would not be appalled to see nurses, aides and all support personnel working.

If they needed gas to be able to gather with family, or passed through toll booths, workers would be doing their jobs.

Sales personnel are not the only ones working that day. Remember all the others and thank them for their time away from their Thanksgiving gathering.
