The 1.5 percent increase in Social Security benefits in 2014 is another slap in the face to Social Security recipients. They say it’s because the price of food and other items have not increased much in the last year. What world do they live in if they haven’t seen any big increases?

I don’t know which is worse, the federal government or the state government. All the officials get automatic cost-of-living adjustments and exorbitant salaries, but state retirees haven’t received a cost-of-living adjustment in about 15 years. Yet lawmakers live high on the hog at the expense of taxpayers.

All elected officials should be limited to two terms. It’s time the people take back the country and quit letting the freeloaders run it.
