It’s fine to have an “Athlete of the Week.”

But when will we have an “Academic of the Week” and provide equivalent acknowledgment for young people who are applying themselves diligently to something far more significant than sports? Or are we so preoccupied with entertaining ourselves that we simply don’t value academic achievement?
