The blame game continues. Good teachers, bad teachers. Good parents, bad parents. Good schools, bad schools.

Public education in the 1950s, 1960s and the 1970s kept our world status as the leader in education. What happened?

Nobody wants to talk of the low world ranking to which we have sunk. Sure, there will be disagreements and arguments with this, but just Google this question on the Internet and you will be shocked as I was. Basic standards in education have all but vanished. I truly believe computer class should be just that, a class. Sure, it’s wonderful to be a computer whiz, but at an early age a mindless electronic pacifier should not be the teacher or take place of basic education. Math, science, English, and health should be taught in a classroom and not on a mindless electronic pacifier.

It’s time to stop the blame game and get back to basics.
