I am a physician practicing in McMurray, PA, and I wanted to comment on prescription costs.

There have been several instances in my practice recently where the discrepancy of the cost of a prescription has varied so dramatically that I want readers to be aware to shop around. If a prescription cost seems excessive, check the price at other pharmacies and compare prices before you buy. This week, a pharmacy told one of my patients a generic prescription cost nearly $100. I was shocked. I called another pharmacy and the cost for the same prescription was $8.
