Really, Joe Furjanic? You actually sat down and wrote a letter that appeared in Tuesday’s edition stating that the Democrats and President Obama are the culprits responsible for the shutdown of the American government.
When you heard the television, radio and newspapers saying that the Republicans under their “leader,” Speaker of the House John Boehner, voted against the Senate bill that would have kept the government in business, did you not understand that?
I realize it must be embarrassing to be a member of the party that shut down the U.S government and is on the brink of setting off an international economic crisis, but you can’t just alter reality. As a wise sage once said, “You are entitled to your own opinion, but you are not entitled to your own facts.”
I read today of a young mother, Michelle Langbehn of Auburn, Calif., who is battling cancer and whose application to be included in a cancer study has been delayed indefinitely until the Republican Speaker and the Republican House get done with their temper tantrum and agree to allow the U.S. government to get back to work. I’m sure her story is just one of thousands that point to the immorality of the Republican-led shutdown of government services.
