Why so secret?

I have been writing letters to the editor for more than half a century. Each time I feel it necessary to inform the public of occurrences in the political arena and how our elected officials are spending our tax dollars.
After reading the headline “Marcellus Shale Coalition holds private event” in the Oct. 11 issue of the Observer-Reporter, I thought I would pose a few questions.
To our Senator Solobay (who helped organize the event): Why was the O-R reporter asked to leave while a few choice people who were not elected officials allowed to stay?
Also to Senator Solobay and the Marcellus Shale Coalition: Why are these meetings, if so informative, not open to the public? Is there something to hide?
I thought I might write a few lines to make voters think about who is in office and what their agenda is. When you cast your vote, think about who has the public’s best interest in mind, and who has their own hidden agenda.
