Today, I watched my employee care benefits webinar and walked away disgusted by the changes.

I have heard some point to our employer as the culprit. But in this case, the “evil corporation” is not to blame. This is Obamacare plain and simple. This is how government, now operating unrestrained, pulls the strings on businesses and private citizens.

Speaking for myself, I think we had a great thing going. Our employer had shaped a first-class environment with unrivaled benefits. Our young part-timers had advantages of supplementing family income, as well as receiving free care and a flexible schedule. A parent could temporarily leave full-time jobs and start families. Others are finishing college, all while picking up a few hours of work and reaping benefits any young family would consider a tremendous help. Then there are those who simply needed the added income and health care coverage to reduce financial strain. Without these perks, will these people stay on for the few actual dollars straight pay gives them?

Hiring part-timers is also beneficial to a company’s bottom line. Obscene profit? Greedy? I guess it can be. But profits allow more clinics to open and jobs to be created.

If you ask me, Obamacare created an avalanche of problems where none existed. It will definitely hurt those trying to become and remain self-sufficient, as well as hurting the smooth operation of a once wonderfully run place of employment.
