Two sides to every story

There are two sides to every story and the truth lies somewhere in between. A story published in your paper Saturday regarding Harold “Junior” McCutcheon, who apparently shot and killed his ex-wife and shot and wounded her boyfriend Thursday in South Strabane Township before committing suicide, was quite scathing.

I knew McCutcheon. He was a nice person who loved his children, worked hard, coached for his son’s football team and loved his children and grandchildren, sisters, nieces and nephews and was a good neighbor. I also knew his ex-wife and we enjoyed many candlelight Christmas Eve services together as well as family celebrations.

A marriage takes two people to cooperate and work very hard together. Suicide and murder devastates families and leaves so many unanswerable questions. Let us take a moment to remember that we need to practice kindness toward one another because we never know what problems people may be experiencing. Let us take a moment to pray for their families.
