Once again, the Observer-Reporter has missed the mark.

As I do every day, I purchase the Observer-Reporter with the anticipation of reading articles and newsworthy items relating to Washington and Greene counties. But I didn’t know South Fayette Township has become part of the newspaper’s coverage area.

When I opened the newspaper Tuesday, a headline about a football player from South Fayette High School was on the front of the high school football insert. Not Trinity, Washington or Fort Cherry high schools, but South Fayette.

True, South Fayette in Allegheny County has a McDonald mailing address. But it is very doubtful the newspaper’s readership has shifted from Washington County to Allegheny County, let alone South Fayette Township.

The Observer-Reporter should stay in its own backyard.
