I wanted to address the June 13 letter by Patricia J. Hurd on pit bulls.

I feel pit bulls are getting a bad rap. They do not come into this world vicious. That is caused by the people who raise them. I feel sorry for the New Eagle child who was injured by a pit bull, but this was just a puppy doing what puppies do. I had a dachshund puppy that bit my daughter’s ear and I did not think it was a vicious act. I instead supervised the play period more carefully.

God bless retired U.S. Marine Neil Morris for giving a pit bull a second chance to prove his loyalty. If this pup can ease even a little pain for what he has given us, then he should be able to take this pup anywhere he needs to.
