Where are police in Hickory?

I have lived in Hickory for three years and I understand the people who run Mt. Pleasant Township want the police force to go to 24/7 patrols.

The question I present is, why go to extra coverage when you hardly see patrols roaming the area? Have a seat on Main Street and watch all the speeders go by. We have a posted 35 MPH speed limit and these vehicles go faster than that. You never see our force out catching these speeders. Park them in the fire hall parking lot and they could write their wages in one shift.

I travel Route 50 through Cecil Township several times a week, and Cecil’s police have several places in which they patrol on any given day. Hopefully, the supervisors in Mt. Pleasant Township will read this and maybe step up patrols on Main Street. I just hope it happens before someone gets hurt or killed.
