In our world, most daily reporting centers on crime or politics. What a great change to read your Monday editorial outlining in great and accurate detail the positive impact of the three-week Collegiate Challenge in both Washington and Greene counties in support of our Habitat for Humanity mission.

On behalf of all Habitat affiliates, congratulations to the students from Western Kentucky University, who volunteered within our Washington affiliate, and the students from Boston College, Concordia University and Fordham University, and to the Observer-Reporter for your fine editorial. It alerted our community to the fact that these young adults deserve praise and recognition for the selfless choices they made during spring break. It gives us all significant hope that we will indeed have quality leaders in the future to better guide our country in all ways.
