A lot of people woke up happy Wednesday because they put a man out of office for doing exactly what those of us who helped him get elected asked him to do.

Gov. Tom Corbett said it wouldn’t be popular to make necessary budget cuts, but he did it anyway. He didn’t tax energy because he knew it would lead to already-growing inflation as well as cost jobs and growth. He knows the government shouldn’t pick the winners and losers. The growing state economy he is responsible for won’t show itself completely for a while. Tom Wolf will get credit for it.

Corbett didn’t cut education either. The facts show that Corbett kept it the same as it was before the federal stimulus, which artificially inflated it.

Luckily, the state House and Senate are going to save Wolf from himself by not letting him do too much damage to our state economy.
