Congratulations to the Lady Macs on a historic soccer season. You and your coaching staff should be very proud. To play in the WPIAL and state finals is what many teams dream about but never get the opportunity. You reached the goal and performed like champions. Your road to the finals defined the strong will and character of the players and program.
You earned the respect of opponents through the WPIAL and state. The Lady Macs brought pride to the school and community.
Although the defeats were disappointing, cherish the good and bad moments and your remarkable season. In time, you will enjoy talking with family, friends and teammates of the days when you played soccer or coached at Canon-Mac. Soccer is a part of your life that leaves everlasting memories.
One of the biggest wins of the season is the future. Your success will help continue to excite the girls soccer program. I’m sure a few five- or six-year-old girls are now hooked on soccer. Your success will help build an even stronger program. I can remember when Canon-McMillan did not have enough girls to field a team. Those days are history. The program has grown and the coaches are committed. Lady Macs soccer is now one of the elite programs in the WPIAL.
You are the best team in the school’s history. I wish each of you continued success in your athletic and academic endeavors.
Well done, Lady Macs.
