Don’t tax us twice

I originally opposed a Marcellus Shale extraction tax, because I know that any such tax will just be passed on to the consumer. I would like to propose a tax on gas that is shipped or piped from our area to other states, that the tax would be charged based on the quantity and the tax will be on those benefiting from receiving the gas, not on the people living where the gas is extracted.

Those of us who live in the area are already dealing with all of the problems associated with the Marcellus gas extraction, such as traffic from big trucks and the damage caused to our roads, possible water contamination, collection ponds for the fracking water and more. Residents are already “paying” with all of the inconvenience, and now gubernatorial candidate Tom Wolf wants to institute a tax that will make us pay even more.

I hope if he gets elected, they will pay attention about how the law is written, so that consumers in this area are not taxed again.
